I joke that the entirety of my early childhood is trapped inside an old, disabled Verizon LG phone kept in the family junk-drawer. That's sadly the truth though. Having children in a time where cellphone portraits are sufficient, my mom wasn't big on things like family photos and school picture day. What she didn't realize was the unreliability of these devices to preserve our memories. In high school, I realized when submitting a childhood portrait for yearbook, that I have at most 10 tangible photos of myself before the age seven. This absence left a sense of nostalgia for moments that I've since forgotten. It was a realization that led me to begin my journey not only to fill our photo albums with memories, but to help other's fill theirs.

Mia did an amazing job with our little family! We took pictures with our son being just 2 weeks old and she captured our family and home beautifully while being understanding of newborn antics.
Before I began Mia Colone Photo LLC, I owned a handmade children's clothing line. I've been sewing since I was 5 years old, and like my passion for photography, I fell in love with sewing when my little sister was born. From making her Halloween costumes and Easter dresses, to shipping hundreds of handmade pieces a month all over the country.
While I love photography, my entire life I have had a passion for medicine and healthcare. I'm currently in undergrad at Loyola while I work towards my goal of working with children as a pediatric anesthesiologist. Photography is an endeavor of mine which supports my education and lifelong dream.
When I'm not capturing memories, I'm usually baking, knitting, or traveling. I love making things and spending time with my friends. I also love a Target run and enjoy learning new recipes when I'm not too busy with classes.
I love live music and nature. My favorite place on earth is Mexico!
I'm a northside native with a southeast side heart. I grew up across the street from Horner Park, and spent my summers in South Chicago with my grandparents. Now, I live in Gold Coast while I attend university. My heart belongs to this beautiful city.
I have a major sweet tooth. My favorite cake is carrot cake, and I make the trip to the Wicker Park farmers market for it every week. I also have an obsession with anything Strawberry Cheesecake!
"From the admiration over my baby sister to preserving time for hundreds of Chicago families, my journey with photography has been lifelong. It all began with the simple joy of watching my little sister grow up. Over the years, my lens has become a window into the raw beauty of human connection, preserving laughter, love, and life. I believe in the power of photography to freeze time, to encapsulate the authenticity of each passing moment."
