PHOTOGRAPHY
Growing up, my family was devoid of its own collection of photographs. We lacked the tangible memories that remind us of where we've been and how we've grown. This absence left a sense of nostalgia for moments that slipped through our fingers. It was a realization that led me to begin my journey not only to fill our photo albums with memories, but to help other's fill theirs.
My journey took a significant turn when I became a photographer with purpose. My little sister inspired me to pick up the camera. I wanted to document her childhood, to create a visual narrative that she could cherish in the future. Photography became the bridge connecting to my own childhood with the promise of preserving hers.

Before I began Mia Colone Photo LLC, I owned a handmade children's clothing line. I've been sewing since I was 5 years old, and like my passion for photography, I fell in love with sewing when my little sister was born. From making her halloween costumes and Easter dresses, to shipping hundreds of handmade pieces month all over the country.
This is my second business
While I love photography, ever since I was a kiddo I had a passion for medicine and healthcare. I'm currently in undergrad at Loyola while I work towards my goal of working with children as nurse. Photography is an endeavor of mine which supports my education and lifelong dream.
I plan on becoming a peds nurse anesthetist after university
When I'm not capturing memories, I'm usually baking or knitting. I love making things and spending time with my friends. I also go crazy for a Target run and enjoy learning new recipes when I'm not busy with classes.
I love music and traveling. In the summer I can definitely be found at Lollapalooza and Mexico City!!
How i spend my free-time
I'm a northside native with a southeast side heart. I grew up across the street from Horner Park, and spent my summers in South Chicago with my grandparents. Now I dorm in Gold Coast as a proud Loyola Rambler! My heart belongs to this wild city.
I'm as Chicago youth and total geek!
Who am i, aside from your photographer?
I have a major sweet tooth. My favorite cake is carrot cake, and I have it at least once a week. I also have an obsession with anything Strawberry Cheesecake!
Baking is something I grew up doing with my grandmother, and totally my love-language!
